Decorations for the Flower Festival took the form of 'Aspects' of St. Giles - the various causes that have his patronage - and he was certainly a busy Saint. Some rather tricky items were covered - leprosy, epilepsy, cripples and beggars, blacksmiths, hermits, woodlands and rams.
All the displays were kindly sponsored by local businesses and organisations, and our grateful thanks go to the following for their support and encouragement:
We had visitors from far and wide, and not only was there a lot of praise for the beauty and ingenuity of the displays, but also a lot of interest in the church and St. Giles himself was shown. As in many events of this kind, a lot of networking took place, and promises of future support were made.
The next 'Friends of St. Giles' Event will be the Autumn Fayre on Saturday October 27th at Langford Village Hall 1400-1700. Friday 31st August-Sunday 2nd September
